From the bottle: The Chambourcin grape grows across Indiana, and is used to make both red and rosé wines. We had a hunch it would help brew a mighty special beer. After picking up a truckload of grapes from the local Creekbend vineyards at Oliver Winery, we blended it with a 24-monthold Flanders-style red ale, and our lambic-style sour ale, Basis, aged on Chambourcin grapes for 18 months. With tannins from the skins of the Chambourcin grape and a deep ruby red color, to the aroma and flavor of dark, tart fruit, this medium-bodied red ake is dinner party material. Grilled ribeye, anyone?
