Black Star Farms 'Arcturos' Pinot Blanc 2023 (Old Mission Peninsula, Michigan)
While Pinot Blanc is generally associated with the prestigious wines of Alsace, the varietal thrives in Northern Michigan’s climate, especially the cool maritime temperatures of the Old Mission Peninsula. This is now the home base of Black Star Farms, owned and operated by Kerm and Sallie Campbell since the early ‘90s, who gradually expanded their small 10 acre parcel purchased in Sutton’s Bay into one of Michigan’s most highly esteemed wineries.
This white is crisp and lively, with notes of zesty meyer lemon, white nectarine, and green apple. Delicate white florals compliment the vibrant fruit, with an elegant minerality on the finish tying it all together.
Food Ideas: Smoked pork chops with peaches, sweet corn risotto with shrimp & bacon, coconut miso salmon curry, pommes aligot
ABV: 12.5%
