Detroit Vineyards 'La Poignée de Main' Pinot Noir 2021 (Old Mission Peninsula, MI)
Located in Eastern Market in Detroit, Michigan, Detroit Vineyards is one of the largest urban wineries in the country! While the wines are fully vinified in the city, winemaker Chris Southern sources fruit from vineyards in northern Michigan, in this case Old Mission Peninsula.
Aged one year in neutral French oak, this 100% Pinot Noir is fresh and bright and earthy, with lovely notes of cherry and red plum. Juicy acidity and a slightly savory herbaceousness are layered with a pleasant minerality.“La Poignée de Main” is French for “handshake,” a nod to their favorite winegrowers who always work with them on a handshake deal.
Food Ideas: Pork chops with cherry sauce, borscht, pheasant pot pie with leeks & bacon, salmon with potatoes and horseradish tarragon sauce, mushroom pizza
ABV: 12.9%
