Brunn Zwiegelt Kamptal, Austria 2019
Winemaker Karl Steinschaden and his family run their small winery in Kamptal, just north of the Danube. Dedicated to traditional practices, the grapes are hand-harvested in small batches and fermented using native yeast, enhancing and exemplifying the extremely high quality fruit they cultivate in this region.
Juicy yet savory, we get notes of tart red fruit (think cranberry) and a subtle hint of rose on the nose. On the palate, notes of blackberry are beautifully counter-balanced with loads of cracked pepper. Wonderful at cellar temp or even with a slight chill, this gluggable liter bottle is as fun to share as it is to drink!
