Domaine Richel 'La Combell' Blanc Savoie (Apremont) France 2018Regular price $15.00
The Richel family have been making wine here in the French Alps since the 50s, when they used to just sell barrels to the local village bars of Chambéry. Lucky us, this wine makes it out of the mountains now, bringing all that alpine freshness and minerality to sea level. Or lake level, as it were.
This 100% Jacquère has a bouquet of citrus blossom, pear, and white peach, while the palate gives us bitter almond, zippy acidity and a chalky minerality on the finish. Jacquère is such a versatile grape, both rich and delicate, with plenty of brightness to pull us out winter!
Food Ideas: the official wine to pair with fondue, blood orange and beet salad, stuffed squash blossom fritters, spring onion vichyssoise, wild mushroom sformato w/hazelnuts
