Envinate 'Albahra' Vinos Mediterraneos Vino de Mesa, Spain 2020Regular price $26.00
This group of (4) friends met in oenology school, joining forces to acquire Iberian vineyards highlighting indigenous varietals and ancient terroir. Albahra, with its chalky soils, hosts the last 50 hectares of Moravia Agria left in Spain, some of which goes into this blend.
The rest is Garnacha Tintorera (aka Alicante Bouschet), a red-fleshed grape that gives the palate ripe, spicy fruit. High-toned acidity balances the lushness, leaving you with a breezy food-versatile Mediterranean red.
Food Ideas: green beans and almonds, poached tuna w/tapenade, crispy pork belly and pickled calabrian peppers, game birds
