Vavasour Sauvignon Blanc Marlborough, New Zealand 2020
The Marlborough region of New Zealand is nearly synonymous with Sauvignon Blanc these days. Just like any other winegrowing area, it has distinct subregions and terroirs. This wine comes from the Awatere Valley, close to the ocean and boasting the coolest climate of Marlborough.
Vavasour was one of the first producers to recognize the special potential of this area. Their Sauvignon Blanc is whole-cluster fermented using indigenous yeasts (no synthetics). We get fresh herbs and bright citrus, with those tropical fruit notes on the palate so characteristic of the region.
