Fradei Montepulciano d'Abruzzo 2021 (Abruzzo, Italy)
Abruzzo, located in Southern Italy, is often referred to as “the greenest region in Europe,” with more than one-third of the region set aside for national parks and nature preserves. The remaining lands are agriculturally rich and diverse, and has become famed for the production of Montepulciano wine (the varietal, not the region famous for Sangiovese).
This Montepulciano, surprisingly, sees no oak, an impressive testament to the level of intensity and powerful character this varietal can have. Deep red fruits and spice on the palate drink impeccably smoothly, and the lower acidity and soft tannins make this a supreme food wine.
Food Ideas: Portobello mushroom burger, lamb kebabs, meat lover’s pizza, Filipino beef adobo, twice baked potato, wild rice & golden beet salad
ABV: 13%
