Casa Ferreirinha 'Planalto' Vinho Branco Seco Reserva 2022 (Douro, Portugal)
Casa Ferreirinha gets its name from an incredible woman- Dona Antónia Adelaide Ferreira. Born in 1811 in the town of Régua, she took over the family business in 1845 at the age of 33. Initially a port house, she expanded the estate and began producing exceptional unfortified wines that the winery continues to produce to this day. The name Casa Ferreirinha comes from her nickname, ‘Ferreirinha,’ which means ‘the little Ferreira.’
This blend of 20% Viosinho, 20% Malaysia Fina, 15% Gouveio, 15% Arinto, 15% Códega, 10% Rabigato, 5% Moscatel is lean and elegant with a lively, well-integrated acidity. Notes of white orchard fruit and ripe citrus are balance by just a hint of light florals and fresh tender herbs.
Food Ideas: Cold pork noodles with peanuts, green salad with fried goat cheese, spaghetti with clams, prosciutto wrapped melon
ABV: 12.5%
