Chateau de Montmirail 'Les Deux Freres' Vacqueyras 2022 (Cotes du Rhone, France)
Château de Montmirail was founded in the 1960s by Maurice Archimbaud, aptly named after the Dentelles de Montmirail Mountains, as the family was the first to plant grapes on the terraced slopes around the mountains. The estate straddles two of the Rhone’s most notable crus: Vacqueyras and Gigondas. Now run by Monique Archimbaud and her children Philippe and Sylvie, they produce a variety of exceptional classic Rhone blends.
This blend of 70% Grenache, 20% Syrah, and 10% Mourvedre is a classic Vacqueyras red. Earthy but well polished, with ample notes of savory herbs, supple dark fruit, and just a touch of leathery spice. Excellent weight and body and polished tannins make for an incredibly elegant and impressive wine.
Food Ideas: Herb crusted rack of lamb, Beef Bourguignon, roasted quail with plums, warm lentil salad with goat cheese, eggplant adobo
ABV: 14.5%
