Muralhas de Moncao Vinho Verde Colheita 2024 (Vinho Verde, Portugal)
Muralhas de Moncao was founded on October 11, 1958, when twenty-five Portuguese wine producers signed a document creating Adega Cooperativa Regional de Monção. The cooperative’s first harvest in 1962 included 66 growers. Today, the venture has blossomed to 1,720 members.
This blend of Alvarinho 85%, Trajadura 15% is a bit different from the fizzy Vinho Verdes that most people are familiar with! This Vinho Verde is vinified as a still wine, so no bubbles, but lots of deliciousness! Notes of ripe stone fruit are balanced by hints of blood orange and lemon peel bringing a delightful acidity. A lean, minerally backbone offers some salinity and provide a nice structure to this exciting Portuguese white.
Food Ideas: Shrimp and pork dumplings, salt cod fritters, fried chicken sandwich, Monahan’s Thai shrimp, pasta al limone
ABV: 12.5%
