Domaine Cazes 'Macabeó Macabeu' Amber Wine 2022 (Languedoc-Roussillon, France)
Situated between the Pyrenees and the Mediterranean Sea in Rivesaltes, at the heart of Roussillon, Domaine Cazes was established in 1895 by Michel Cazes, expanding to 40 hectares by the 1950s and producing its first bottles for market by 1955. Today, the vineyards span over 220 hectares, and the domaine has been practicing biodynamic and organic farming for the past 25 years. This 100% Macabeo is harvested by hand, and then the juice is macerated on the skins and pips for 7 to 15 days to build ripe, supple tannins. Pressed and then aged in barrels for at least eight months, it develops both structure and complexity. This is a fuller bodied skin-contact wine, with zesty notes of orange peel and kumquat with grippy tannins and a rich, weighty texture.
ABV: 13%
