Tassajara Chardonnay 2023 (Monterey, California)
The Tassajara wines are the product of a partnership between importer Vino del Sol and Scheid Family Wines, who have been sustainably farming and producing wine in Monterey since 1972. The name comes from the Tassajara Hot Springs, located at the site of a Zen Buddhist Monastery in the Los Padres National Forest. Local legend has it that the indigenous people of Monterey took spiritual healing from these hot springs, a tradition carried on through the Buddhist Monks.
This wine is an exemplary example of “California Chardonnay.” Beautifully integrated notes of toasty oak provide a smooth, rich texture that is balanced by a well-tempered acidity and notes of ripe stone fruit and hint of green apple.
