Winemaker Sylvain Liotard farms 5.7 hectares in the small Alpine village of Chapareillan, nestled along the slopes of Mont Granier. Certified organic and biodynamic, Sylvain tends to his vineyards with great care and takes a very hands-off approach during vinification, producing pure, honest expressions of native varietals that are vibrant and exciting yet incredibly approachable.
The ‘Le Coeur en Goguette,’ which translates to “the heart aflutter,” is a delightful 50/50 blend of Gamay and Mondeuse. We get notes of juicy red berry fruit bringing lovely acidity, along with subtle notes of warm baking spices, a hint of black pepper, and a pleasant earthiness on the finish. Supple, well integrated tannins bring just enough structure to this fresh and incredibly drinkable blend that we often enjoy with a slight chill!
