Bodegas Ostatu Rosado 2022 (Rioja Alavesa, Spain)
Bodegas Ostatu is a family winery located in the heart of the Rioja Alavesa region, in the town of Samaniego, run by Iñigo Saenz de Samaniego. The family has been in the area for many generations, and the winery dates back over two hundred and fifty years.
This rosé (called rosado in Spain) is a blend of Tempranillo, Garnacha, and Viura,
sourced from 70-year-old vines growing in high elevation vineyards. We get bright red fruit and watermelon on the nose with more on the palate. Juicy acidity like a squeeze of lemon brightens each sip, and a lingering minerality on the finish gives this rosé a savory complexity that sets it apart from the rest of the summer's pink wines.
ABV: 13%
Food Ideas: chicken tinga tacos, greek salad w/grilled lamb, gazpacho, watermelon and halloumi w/chili-lime vinaigrette
