Chateau Laffitte-Teston 'Vieilles-Vignes' Madiran 2020 (Southwest France)
Chateau Laffitte-Teston began as a family farm with 8 hectares of vineyards that sold their fruit in bulk for the production of wine. In 1975, Jean-Marc Laffitte began bottling his own wine, eventually growing the estate to a total of 50 hectares of vineyards composed mostly of Tannat, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Cabernet France.
The Vieilles Vignes cuvee is 100% Tannat from 80 year old vines that sees 13 months of barrel-aging. This hearty full-bodied red has super robust tannins and lots of rich dark fruit with earthy notes of cocoa and espresso on the palate. With Tannat’s famously intense tannins, this is a great bottle to cellar for a few years, but if you want to drink it now we recommend 2 hours of decanting.
Food Ideas: Duck cassoulet, ribeye steak with mushroom sauce, grilled lamb kebabs, chicken mole tacos, sausage & lentil stew
ABV: 14.5%
