Chateau Magneau Blanc Graves 2023 (Bordeaux, France)
Château Magneau is an ancient property that has been run by the Ardurat family since before the reign of Henri IV. Today, Chateau Magneau is run by Henri Ardurats and his two sons and wife. Generally, Bordeaux wines, both white and red, illustrate the art of blending and the Chateau Magneau Graves Blanc is a fine example of this. The wine is made from 45% Sauvignon Blanc, 45% Semillon and 10% Muscadelle. Each variety is fermented separately in stainless steel tanks at low temperatures to preserve the grapes’ aromatic qualities.
We get ripe apple and apricot on the nose with stone and flint. On the palate, papaya and gooseberry join in with good weight and equally good acidity to balance. Lemon citrus, flint, and chalk linger on the finish.
Food Ideas: mushroom risotto, cod with beurre blanc, herbed ricotta lasagna, warm squash & chickpea salad
Alcohol: 12.5%
