Valldolina 'Tutusaus' Cava Gran Reserva Brut Nature 2021 (Penedes, Spain)

Raimon Badell is making biodynamic and organic vintage Cava from his estate in Alt Penedès, which is located entirely within the national protected area of the Massís del Garraf. This Brut Nature Cava, a blend of Xarel·lo, Macabeu, Parellada, & Chardonnay, is made with the idea of a  “Grower Champagne” in mind- dry and elegant and reminiscent of French Cremants, Champagne Bruts, and Blanc de Blancs. The name Valldolina [vai-doh-LEE-nah] is a description of the landscape. Dolines are depressions formed in areas that are rich in limestone soils, while 'vall' is Catalan for valley. Thus, Valldolina = valley of dolines.

Arnaud Lambert 'Midi' Chenin Blanc Saumur 2023 (Loire Valley, France)

Arnaud Lambert is what some call a “luminaire in the making.” Esteemed by many as one of the premier Chenin Blanc producers in the Saumur region, Lambert’s love for his craft is evident from vine to bottle. In tending his biodynamic vineyards and allowing his wines to be influenced by the nature he works to preserve and protect, he’s producing incredibly pure expressions of grape and terroir.

The ‘Midi’ is a laser sharp, rocky, and mineral driven Chenin with notes of citrus, white flowers and juicy pear on both the nose and palate, and a mineral struck finish lingers on every corner of the palate. An energetic and vivid lip-smacker.

Domaine Gregoire Hoppenot 'Origines' Fleurie 2023 (Beaujolais, France)

Winemaker Gregoire Hoppenot is a born and raised Beaujolais native, and with quite a pedigree of employment under esteemed wine houses like Chapoutier’s Maison Trenel and Pierre Chermette, we’d say this guy knows what he’s doing. 

This Gamay is an approachable and elegant natural wine. Bright red berries, currants, and a hint of rose petal on the nose with a palate that’s playful and juicy, but this wine still has loads of sophisticated structure thanks to the silky tannins and the granite-y, mineral finish. Young but ready to impress, put a light chill on it for a real treat!
