Grochau Cellars 'Convivial' Gamay/Pinot Noir 2022 (Willamette Valley, Oregon)
First introduced to winemaking in his 20s while cycling through some of France’s most revered wine regions as a cyclist on a French racing team, John Grochau really ignited a passion for wine after working in restaurants in his hometown of Portland, Oregon. Producing his first vintage as owner and winemaker in 2002, Grochau has been making fresh, balanced, famously food friendly wines ever since.
Grochau’s line of ‘Convivial’ wines doubles down on this, aiming to make bright, energetic wines that burst with flavor. This Gamay/Pinot blend is absolutely that- light and easy drinking with mouthwatering acidity and vibrant notes of ripe red fruit, a hint of violet, thyme, and earthy sage.
Food Pairings: Roasted quail stuffed with mushrooms, beet & goat cheese salad with baby kale, mustard & brown sugar glazed salmon, honeynut squash risotto
75% Gamy, 25% Pinot Noir
ABV: 13.5%
