Though this grape is grown throughout Europe, most of the wine labeled 'Pinot Blanc,' mostly from Alsace, is actually a blend of white Pinots and Auxerrois. But here in Michigan, halfway up the Old Mission Penninsula jutting into Grad Traverse Bay, Pinot Blanc loves the cool maritime temperatures and produces beautiful wines that can stand alone.

This climate protects the delicate aromatics of the grape, giving us white flowers and clementine on the nose. With 3 months on the lees there's also a lovely mouthfeel, with yellow apple and citrus fruit coming through, with a clean chalky finish on the palate.
