Moric Hausmarke Rot Solera 2022 (Burgenland, Austria)
Weingut Moric is one of the premier Blaufrankisch producers in Austria, helmed by Roland Velich. Based out of Burgenland, one of Austria’s southernmost wine producing regions, the vineyards benefit from the more moderate climate here. Roland’s goal is simple: make wine simply so that his bottles are a pure expression of where they come from.
The Hausmarke Rot Solera is a blend of Blaufränkisch, Rotburger (Zweigelt), and Blauburgunder (Pinot Noir). This is an incredibly unique solera style blend, in which 9 different vintages ranging from 2012 to 2022 are blended together! Playful, fresh, and incredibly drinkable, with notes of black currant and juicy red fruit that are balanced by a forest-floor earthiness and a hint of peppery spice.
Food Ideas: Skillet pork chops with apples & onions, Austrian-style Goulash, mushroom stroganoff, smoked BBQ ribs, burgers!
ABV: 13%
