Wapisa Sauvignon Blanc 2022 (Patagonia, Argentina)
Southeast of Mendoza, 25 miles from the Atlantic Ocean, surrounded by desert, sits this one and only coastal Patagonian winery. Wapisa, which translates to “whale” in the local dialect, may not be alone for long though, as their delicious wines are showing the world what this unique microclimate can produce.
Characteristic varietal notes of grapefruit and greenery come through on the nose, but then on the palate we get juicy tropical fruits and bright acidity. Even with its South American ripeness this wine finishes lean and racy.
Food Ideas: Grilled white fish with mango salsa, chickpea avocado sandwich, jerk chicken with Jamaican rice and peas, cold cucumber soup
